My Approach:

Every individual holds a unique story, and understanding this narrative requires a holistic lens. I firmly believe that no two stories, or the strategies for success they demand, are identical.

In our collaboration, I pledge a commitment to a comprehensive evaluation and a treatment plan customized to fit your needs. Drawing from a spectrum of therapeutic modalities — from psychodynamic to cognitive-behavioral, trauma-focused, and beyond — our journey might integrate individual or family therapy. The potential inclusion of medication is always thoughtfully considered and contingent on your distinct needs.

While I've garnered deep expertise in areas such as trauma/loss, autism, and mood disorders, my heart and mind remain receptive and enthusiastic about assisting individuals facing diverse challenges. I consider it a privilege to work with you as we embark on the therapeutic journey, navigating together towards your path of success.

Areas of Specialty:

First Steps:

Consultation: Sometimes it is helpful to meet briefly before our first session to discuss the process and ensure we are a good fit based on what you are looking for.  Feel free to schedule a 15 minute meeting using this link if you think that would be helpful.

Consultation and Comprehensive Evaluation: Due to differences in how insurance allows me to bill for meetings the first visits and treatment planning will be slightly different if you are paying out of pocket as opposed to using insurance benefits.  With insurance we'll schedule an initial 60 minute visit and then schedule additional visits as needed to complete the evaluation. Regardless of how you are paying for your care you will receive the same service and support.

Patients paying out of pocket will have more flexibility as we can book an initial two hour visit to review your current symptoms, past history, and devise our treatment plan.

Followup care is based on your unique needs, but generally falls into two categories:

Medication Management:  Generally 30 minute sessions that are scheduled once a month, although some cases or individuals benefit from meeting more frequently. Conversely as patients do better and we are not adjusting medication we may stretch these meetings out to longer intervals.

Therapy:  If you would benefit from more regular meetings to focus on therapy, plus or minus medications, we will discuss this and see if it would make sense to work together or if I can help you find an appropriate referral outside my practice.  Each case is different, but therapy sessions are generally one hour and occur two to four times a month.

To further support the evaluation I might find it beneficial to engage with fellow clinicians, family members, or peruse pertinent academic, professional, or medical documents. This meticulous approach ensures we carve out the best pathway for our continued collaboration, be it further sessions, referrals, or leveraging other resources.

My approach is rooted in a blend of therapeutic methodologies, emphasizing the ones that resonate most with your unique treatment plan. Though sessions typically unfurl weekly, their frequency remains flexible, aligning with your needs and comfort.

Cost of Care:

I am currently working with most Aetna and Cigna insurance. Please contact your insurance if you are unsure if you are covered. If you are out-of-network I can provide a superbill (an itemized invoice) if your insurance covers out-of-network services.  My rate for sessions is $550 per hour; two hour initial intakes are $1100, and 30 minute medication followups are $275.
